New research conducted at the University of East Anglia (UEA), Norwich, UK found that exchanging the low fat diet is very effective in weight loss, as well as streamline the waist and lower bad cholesterol. The results of this study demonstrate for the first time that weight loss can be simply by choosing low-fat foods although most recent publication extolling the benefits of a low carb diet and do not eat carbs.

This study pooled the results of 33 clinical trials involving 74,000 people, published in the British Medical Journal. Dr Lee Hooper of Norwich UEA Medical School, UK, who led the study, said the lifestyle lately cause low weight consistently for at least seven years.

"What surprised us was their weight decreased.Body mass index (BMI) and waist they are declining to be more slender. In fact, their weight continued to drop for at least seven years, "said Hooper.
"There is no particular destination, the more you reduce the fat, the more weight you lose," he said.

The systematic review of these studies, including the results of 33 randomized controlled trials, which lasted for six months to eight years, involving 73,589 men, women, and children with a variety of health status. Then the comparison is made between those who ate less fat than usual and those who eat fat amounts ranging from a quarter to half the daily calories.

Effect on BMI-score that indicates whether a person is overweight or not, and waist circumference were measured after at least six months. The results showed that eating less fat to reduce weight as much as 1.6 kilograms (three and a half pounds), and cut scores of BMI and waist circumference of 0.5 inches.

All of these impact-exist in trials with weight loss is not the desired results-show that this occurs in people with a normal diet. Weight loss can occur quickly and maintained for at least seven years. Hooper expressed, this study does not attempt to assess the best types of fat even though saturated fat is considered to have an adverse effect on health.

He said, reducing saturated fats can lower your risk of heart disease and stroke so that a healthy way to lose fat is to avoid saturated fats.

"This means drinking low-fat milk and yogurt, reduced intake of butter and cheese, and cut the fat from the meat," he said.

"The most important thing is to eat fruit, not fat snacks such as biscuits, cookies, and chips. And remember, this is not a diet, so do not be too extreme. However, to do differently from the way you eat, which can eventually run permanently, "he added.

"Maintaining health is not just about fat and weight, but eat less fat, especially saturated fat, is a good start. Being physically active, not smoking, drinking less alcohol, eating more fruits and vegetables, and drink plenty of fluids also helps to keep us healthy, "said Hooper.
